Therefore, only qualified and authorized individuals should be allowed administrative access to the network element for implementing any changes or upgrades. In order to ensure a prompt response to unauthorized changes to network element security functions, the organization may define safeguards the device shall undertake in the event these changes occur. This requirement is applicable to network device management and is not applicable to the routing function. |
